Principles of Cultural Geography: With Emphasis on Cultural Geography of Iran
Culture plays a pivotal role in our lives and understanding society or human groups is possible only by knowing it. Knowledge of cultural geography also seeks to understand cultural and geographical space and the interaction between these two fields. Wallerstein sees cultural geography as the framework within which the world system operates. He considers the cultural commonalities of each geographical area, calls it the “hidden aspect of the world”, and introduces cultural boundaries as the “true geopolitical framework.” In this book, in addition to explaining the relationship between culture and environment and how the symbols, processes, perspectives, and cultural norms are scattered in the geographical space, special attention has been paid to Iran. It is obvious that the culture of the Iranian nation and the geographical environment of the Iranian territory have had a mutual impact on each other.
