The purpose of this book is to understand the urban geography of Iran on the basis of the theory of the human-environment relationship. Therefore, the author has tried to answer the question, “what are the factors and obstacles that have affected the urban development and the urban spaces of Iranian cities?” In this book, the author initially examines the historical roots of urbanization, characteristics of the city and urbanization, city construction, city status, and geography of metropolitans, and then discusses the dilemmas of Iranian cities. In analyzing urban problems, in addition to natural factors, he has also paid attention to economic, social, and political issues.
