Social Participation and Charity Para-governmental Organisations (With an Emphasis on Iran)

An important part of human activities in social life is based on participation and voluntary activities. In this book, the author deals with the conceptual framework of dimensions, approaches, limitations, and barriers to participation. It then reviews some of the global experiences in this field and examines non-governmental organizations active in the social and support field in Iran. In the following, the relationship between non-governmental organizations and civil society are conceptually described and the characteristics of civil society and the nature of non-governmental organizations in Iran are discussed. This book also studies the emergence and evolution of parallel government organizations, especially the most important and influential ones, which were formed after the revolution in the form of people institutions and foundations and have supportive functions, in a historical framework and a brief picture of the formation and type of activities and presents the performance of the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation.
