Concepts and Theories of Political Geography
Political geography is a branch of the science of geography and deals with different concepts, approaches, views, and theories about the political dimension of space. Until the 1960s, classical theories were focused mainly on the factors and processes of formation, survival, and collapse of the country, and in the 1970s and 1990s, new scientific methodologies were used, to emphasize issues such as the analysis of political processes and their impact on geographical space and sources of threats and tensions between Countries. From the mid-1990s, and with the emergence of the signs of globalization processes and the arising of significant global cities as the center of change and managing transnational processes, a new paradigm of theorizing and analyzing political geography came into being that focuses on global cities and their relations. While examining and presenting the basic concepts of political geography, this book deals with the theories, approaches, and important views of political geography from the beginning until now and efforts have been made to investigate and make a critical evaluation of these issues.
