An Introduction to Illuminationist Philosophy (Hikmat al-Ishraq )

Sheikh Shahab al-Din Suhrawardi (549-587 AH) is one of the shining stars of Islamic Iranian philosophy, his efforts have been presented in the form of the wisdom of Illumination. This school is one of the three great schools in Islamic philosophy and the intermediate link between transcendent wisdom. The Wisdom of Illumination, in addition to promoting the philosophical method and criticizing many of the criticisms of traditional Peripatetic philosophy, has succeeded in raising very new issues that pay attention to all available issues, from ancient philosophies to Islamic mysticism and theology, and has paved the way for the formation of transcendent wisdom. However, there are still many capacities in this wisdom that deserve attention and follow-up. This book has tried to present a revised, uniform, fluent and concise text to convey all the important achievements of the wisdom of Illumination.
