An Introduction to the Orthodox Church
Knowledge of religions has developed human thought and brought positive achievements. The source of many differences between the followers of religions is their ignorance of each other's beliefs. Islam and Christianity have common messages that can be emphasized to move towards unity. When the light of Islam shone on parts of Egypt, the Levant, Mesopotamia, and North Africa, Christians in these areas came under Muslim rule and lived a peaceful life. It should be noted that Christianity can be studied in three religious communities: Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant, and since the Iranian cultural community is less familiar with the Orthodox Church than the other two churches, the present book attempts to acquaint readers with the organizations, councils, beliefs, creeds, icons, rites, tradition, mysticism, and monasticism of the Orthodox Church, as well as the differences, rivalries, and fellowships of this church with the other two churches.
