Shiite narrative commentary books have been studied in general from different aspects; however, it seems that the present work is the first research that independently and extensively addresses seven prominent commentary books in seventeen forms and content axes. These books include: Tafsīr al-Imām al-Ḥasan al-ʿAskarī (a), Tafsīr Furāt al-Kūfī, Tafsir Al-Qummi,Tafsir al-Nu'mani,Tafsir al-'Ayyashi,Al-Burhan fi tafsir al-Qur'an, andTafsir Nur al-Thaqalayn. The present book examines the position and style of each of the authors in relation to ten topics: providing introduction, news of individuals and quoting or deleting a document, authentic narration and other, use of commentary books and other, quoting and criticizing Israeli narratives, narrating narrations on the Moqatta'a (Disjoined) Letters, the virtues of the suras, reciting the verses, quoting the narrations of the causes of revelation and history, and the interpretive narrations of the verses. In the content dimension of the discussed commentaries, the book deals with seven topics: doctrinal and religious teachings, dignity of the Ahl al-Bayt, Israʼiliyyat, moral and educational subjects, jurisprudential subjects, historical subjects of the era of the Prophetand the Ahl al-Bayt, and previous prophets, and discussing issues with public scholars.
