In the period from the fourth to the tenth century AH, in a large area known as the cultural geography of Iran, with the spread of the Persian language as its most important feature, many writings and poems appeared about the event of Karbala, each of which in some way, recorded or reflected the event. This multiplicity and variety of writings led to the formation of multiple discourses in the report of the Karbala incident and the content changes in these discourses in the mentioned period. In order to accurately understand the dimensions of these developments, the concepts contained in the reports under study were quantified using content analysis method and based on linguistic analysis (words, terms, phrases, and sentences), and in the end, they were examined by historical-content analysis. The results show a relatively continuous upward trend in the tendency to the non-historical discourses in the centuries in question and the hegemony (dominance) of emotional discourse in the Persian reports of the Karbala incident.
