The Application of Cognitive Psychology in Industrial Design
Cognitive psychology is a branch of psychological science that studies mental and internal processes and discusses perception and cognition, learning, thinking and reasoning, and problem-solving in humans. The application of this knowledge in industrial design is the introduction of mental or internal processes related to the understanding of the environment and products and how to process-related information to establish two-way communication between the user with the product and the user with the environment; Therefore, the designer, while better understanding the process of perception and cognition in users, to some extent predicts the relationship and responds to psychological needs with the correct design. This book consists of five main chapters (motivation and performance components; products and performance control; performance systems; user and performance information; results) and each chapter contains applied psychological topics in the field of industrial design, with illustrated examples. And can be used by professors, students, professionals, and those interested in industrial design and psychology.
