Theories of Psychotherapy and Counseling
This work introduces the basic theories in psychotherapy and counseling. The reader is first acquainted with the main concepts, theoretical foundations within the general framework, and then to the theories and principles of treatment. This book uniquely separates the principles, mechanisms, and techniques, and the student seems to understand how ideas and practice are related in psychotherapy and counseling by separating theoretical and practical topics. Strengthening the theoretical foundations in a nutshell and teaching practical orientation in detail increases the student’s desire to apply the principles in practice. How to prepare the therapist and clients for successful treatment or counseling is summarized in each theory. Critical examination, evaluation, and empirical support, as well as the possibility of cultural adaptation of each theory, briefly stimulate the student to use familiar techniques carefully and creatively to localize them.
