The Director General of the Scientific R&D Department of Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education: Cooperation with SAMT, the weighty organization, has a positive impact on Iraqi universities.

SAMT Department of Public Relations reported that Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi, the Director General of the Department of Scientific R&D of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Republic of Iraq, in an interview with the reporter of SAMT Department of Public Relations said:

As a representative of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and as the head of the Iraqi delegation, I would like to thank SAMT for the well-organization of this conference. Regarding the cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Republic of Iraq and SAMT organization, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the parties, some of its clauses have been implemented, and the other ones are in the process of being implemented. Today, in a meeting attended by the head and the research deputy of SAMT, some of the clauses of the MoU were discussed. In my affiliated ministry, we intend to implement all the clauses of the MoU. Cooperation with SAMT, the weighty organization, has had a positive impact on Iraqi universities, strengthening and enriching Iraqi libraries with educational and research resources in various fields and languages. In fact, after evaluations by the scientific committees of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education, some works were selected for being translated into Arabic and after being translated, SAMT printed the Arabic translations to be distributed among libraries in Iraq for researchers and postgraduate students.

In conclusion, Dr. Khamis Mahdi wished success to SAMT organization and said: "We are not only committed to implement the remaining clauses of the cooperation agreement with SAMT, but we are also ready to amend and add other clauses to this agreement."
