Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence: Applied Fiqh
This work is the second volume of the three-volume collection of "Applied Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence" that deals with evidence and sources of Islamic Jurisprudence. The study of concepts and terms related to the arguments and sources of Islamic jurisprudence and generalities about certitude (Qat’), conjecture (Zann)is included in the first chapter. The second chapter, entitled "The Four Sources" (al-Adillat al-Arbaʿa), examines four authoritative sources among the Shiites, namely the Qur'an, Tradition of The Infallibles (Hadith collections), Consensus (Ijma'), and Reason ('Aql), and in the third chapter, other arguments such as custom, the wise procedure, deductive analogy (qiyās), and the public interest (al-masalih al-mursala) are examined. This volume also tries to explain the issues that have legal application or are more closely related to law in more detail and by mentioning appropriate legal examples, while stating the issues more convincingly and fluently.
