This book is the result of a research project carried out in the Research Institute for Research & Development of Humanities, SAMT Organization, in which the process of emergence and expansion of pottery as the human’s oldest technology and industry is discussed. According to the available evidence, the people living on the plateau of Iran had acquired pottery techniques prior to other regions around 7500 BC, and from this perspective, the main origin of pottery can be considered the plateau of Iran. The present book was written in the form of 11 chapters, except for the first chapter, the next chapters of which include the initial stage of pottery to the initial stage of the Achaemenid world empire. In writing the book, an attempt has also been made to identify regional differences in the field of pottery. Undoubtedly, studying this issue would not have been possible without conducting extensive research.
