An Introduction to Databases
Databases are one of the main necessities of libraries and information centers. Therefore, librarians are expected to acquire the necessary capabilities to design databases that are able to do some library work while being familiar with the structure of various databases. What matters most to them is mastering competencies and skills such as management, design, architecture, shaping, storing and retrieving, reporting, and displaying information in databases.
This book is written due to these requirements and also due to the developments that have occurred in the new topics in the field of Knowledge and information science, especially due to the lack of sufficient and up-to-date resources in this field. It is hoped that in addition to students of Knowledge and information science, all those who are interested in designing and using databases in libraries and information centers will find the contents of this book useful.
