FOUR MASTERS: An Anthology of Poems by the Poets of The Literary Territory of Iraq
The book Four Masters is a selection of poems by four masters of Persian poetry who have lived in Iraq and Khorasan and are considered to be the founders of Iraqi poetry. Although Anvari Abivardi is known as the Prophet of Praisers, he has had a great impact on changing the style of Persian poetry and in using colloquial language, he sometimes brings the word to a degree of simplicity as if he has included parts of ordinary conversations in his poetry. Jamal al-Din Isfahani is one of the poets whose poems are full of moral and sagacious concepts and at the same time are fluent and simple. Zahira al-Din Faryabi is also one of the famous poets and lyricists of the sixth century, whose poetry, like Anwari’s poems, is fluent and full of precise and original meanings. Kamal al-Din Isfahani, known as “Khallaq al-Ma’ani”, was the master in bringing the deep meanings. He is a subtle and meaningful innovative poet and is known for making difficult lines in. The mentioned poets, like many Persian poets, although they paid special attention to praise and eulogy, were all aware of the sciences of their time such as philosophy, wisdom, medicine, astronomy, Kalam, and theology. Fortunately, in the new curriculum of Persian language and literature, attention has been paid to these four valuable masters of Persian poetry, and this selection has been compiled for a new topic entitled An Anthology of Poems by the Poets of the Literary Territory of Iraq.
