One of the main concerns of Sadr al-Muta’allehin Shirazi, the Shiite sage of the Safavid age school, was to respond to one of Ghazali’s most important criticisms of philosophers for inability to prove the bodily resurrection. He tried to prove the physical and spiritual resurrection by taking advantage of their valuable heritage and using new principles that he himself had come up with. The purpose of writing this book is to explain the eternity of man from the viewpoint of Sadr al-Muta’allehin Shirazi and scholars such as Plato, Aristotle, Plotinus, Ibn Sina, and Sheikh Ishraq who have been effective in the development and emergence of his views.
