Considering the importance and priority of creating preliminary sources for a relatively new approach to social history in Persian, by reviewing a large number of useful articles, some important and referenced articles on the knowledge of social history and its methodological and educational topics were collected and translated in the collection of “Introduction to Social History (Knowledge, Method, Education)”, and thus, a complete package of heritage and experience of pioneers in social history field has been provided for Iranian students to learn more easily and in a much shorter time about the backgrounds and challenges encountered by social historians in Europe and the United States in recent decades, to gain experience in studying the social history of Islam and Iran, to utilize this world heritage, and to attempt to invent solutions, approaches and methods appropriate to the time and place and local and indigenous issues for such studies and apply and test them in practice. The first part of this collection deals with the knowledge of social history and its nature and identity dimensions. The second part deals with the methodology and critical issues raised within the tradition of social historiography in the West, and the third part is devoted to the subject of teaching social history and the experiences of Westerners in this field.
