The Prehistory of Images: An Archaeological Introduction to Emergence and Development of Visual Representation
The late author and linguist of this work wrote the book in English, which was not his mother tongue. This book, as valuable research, presents a description of Persian phonetics in a special theoretical framework that we have not had an example of it in Persian so far. Due to the use of theoretical ideas, this work has provided a broader view of the intonation and in addition to explaining the theory, discusses the objectives of the research along with a summary of previous research on intonation in the Persian language as well as the characteristics of the research body, descriptive techniques, and the punctuation system. The functional role of the pitch accent characteristic has been studied in this book and the characteristics of phonetics and paralinguistics have also been studied. The relationship of some contexts between intonation and syntax, the effects of phonetic and paralinguistics along with other non-chain phenomena on the meaning of utterances are other topics discussed in this work.
