A Textbook on the History of the Interpretation of the Quran (Vol. I): from the Time of Its Revelation to the End of the Minor Occultation (Ghaybat al-Sughra)

Knowledge of the History of Tafsir has a crucial role in proper interpretation of the Quran and optimal usage of interpretive works. In this book, we get acquainted with the characteristics of commentators, commentary books, how to interpret in different periods, changes and evolutions of different schools and methods of interpretation. Textbook of the History of Quranic Interpretation has been compiled to achieve these goals. The first volume of this work covers the history of the interpretation of the Qur'an from the time of revelation to the end of the Lesser Occultation (Gheybat-e Soghra)(329 AH), and in it we get acquainted with more than 290 commentators and 48 existing commentary books and more than 143 missing commentary books. Also, proving the interpretation of the whole Qur'an by the Holy Prophet (PBUH), writing the commentary in his time, the existence of God's chosen commentators after him, the role of infallible Imams in interpreting the Qur'an, introducing the commentators of the companions, Tābi‘ūn (followers) and subsequent commentators, andsources and characteristics and the evolution of interpretation in the age of prophethood, the age of the presence of the infallible Imams (AS) and the age of the Lesser Occultation are other topics in this volume.
