Knowledge of the History of Tafsir has a crucial role in proper interpretation of the Quran and optimal usage of interpretive works. In this book, we get acquainted with the characteristics of commentators, commentary books, how to interpret in different periods, changes and evolutions of different schools and methods of interpretation. Textbook of the History of Quranic Interpretation has been compiled to achieve these goals. The first volume of this work covers the history of the interpretation of the Qur'an from the time of revelation to the end of the Lesser Occultation (Gheybat-e Soghra)(329 AH), and in it we get acquainted with more than 290 commentators and 48 existing commentary books and more than 143 missing commentary books.
