Materials Science in Restoration and Conservation of Historical Objects
The need to protect national and historical monuments requires knowing the intrinsic properties of these monuments based on the type of material they are made of. Therefore, knowledge of materials science and research methods in this field leads to better and more protection and restoration of historical and cultural monuments. The present book has been written with the aim of expanding knowledge and information in the field of understanding the properties of materials to be a step towards facilitating practical research and adopting appropriate treatment methods based on the properties of materials. In this book, the audience is introduced to the structure, methods of identifying and determining the physical and mechanical properties of materials, cellulosic materials, minerals, leather, polymers and applications of nanotechnology in the protection of historical monuments.
