Rehabilitation of Children with Special Needs: A Developmental Based Intervention
According to the World Health Organization, more than 200 million children in the world live with some form of disability. These children can achieve relative independence in daily life and activities if they benefit from rehabilitation facilities and special education services. This goal is achievable only by using the services of experienced professionals, modifying and adapting educational methods and the surrounding environment, using auxiliary tools, and, most importantly, educating parents. Meanwhile, timely identification of disability has its effects on various areas of development and allows for effective and efficient interventions. The author has tried to take an effective step towards children’s rehabilitation by presenting developmental indicators in various areas of psychological development and applying appropriate educational measures, as well as classifying and presenting common approaches and methods of rehabilitation.
