The Prosodic Structure of the Persian Language
Stress and rhythm are two important elements in the prosodic structure of language that play a key role in the prominence of language units. Stress on the word causes the relative prominence of a syllable. At the sentence level, one word becomes more prominent than other words with intonation changes. In this book, the author has tried to explain the phonological aspects of the prosodic structure of the Persian language. In this regard, he has proposed several phonological hypotheses and tested them in the framework of appropriate production and comprehension tests. Through these tests, important findings have been obtained about the phonetic and phonological representation of the prosodic structure of the Persian language that has challenged some common beliefs and previous scientific views. Therefore, reading this book is recommended to Persian linguists and researchers.
