Authenticity and Integrity in Conservation of Cultural Landscape
The speed of development and expansion of cities has caused fundamental changes in their historical areas and the growth of conservation and development flows. In recent decades, the field of conservation of the micro-architectural scale has expanded to the macro level of the cultural landscape. Despite the efforts of the World Heritage Center and other affiliated organizations to provide a framework and introduce the components of cultural landscape conservation assessment, the place of the concepts of originality and integrity has received less attention. This book emphasizes the recognition of the concepts of originality and integrity as transmitters and perpetrators of values and the semantic dimension of heritage as the key criteria in the process of recording, conserving, and managing the cultural landscapes.
