The Fundamentals of Curriculum Development
Curriculum development is developed as a specialized field based on philosophical, social, cultural, economic, psychological, scientific, and religious principles. Curriculum developers use different approaches to achieve their goals, including an integrated approach. In the curriculum development process, work begins with study and research (examining the environment, which is a form of diagnostic evaluation) and ends with evaluation along with research. Evaluation emphasizes the gathering and analysis of external and internal environmental information in order to determine the quantity and quality of the curriculum and follows certain models. To properly implement the evaluation system, it is better to identify common errors and take action to reduce them. Different measures can be taken in this regard; these include: team and continuous evaluation, gathering information from various sources, and specifying evaluation criteria.
