Family From the Viewpoint of Islam and Psychology
The family is one of the basic systems of human societies that, despite fundamental changes, has remained constant in its goals and functions and is still of fundamental importance in all societies. In most societies, including Iran, many problems have arisen for the family due to social, industrial, and scientific developments. These problems indicate that families need a lot of educational and psychological advice to deal with the complexities of life today. Our most important religious texts, namely the Qur’an, the words of the Prophet (pbuh), and the Infallibles (as), are full of effective advice and appropriate to the present age, on the most basic family issues to the most detailed ones. In this book, family issues begin with the definition of family, marriage, and its preconditions, such as the criteria for choosing a spouse, and then the psychological effects of marriage and family members’ relationships are discussed. Then the views of Islam in each case are explained. In later chapters, family elements such as responsibilities of husband and wife, parents and children; The role of religious beliefs, moral and behavioral advice of Islam; Causes of family problems and Islamic solutions to prevent and solve them; The types of family in Islam and the economic laws of the family in Islam have been studied from a psychological point of view. Finally, with reference to the model families in Islam, an outline of the family system in Islam is presented. The final part of the book includes resources and profiles of people and places.
