The national law of each nation takes form on the basis of their history and economic, political, cultural and religious conditions. The study of other nations’ laws has quite a long history and many of the principles are thus collected from different corners of the world and adapted or the laws of a nation is taken over and accommodated to the needs of another nation. In the nineteenth century, comparative studies were enlivened and therefore some institutes and centers for comparative studies were established.
Comparative law is a branch of science which analyses and interprets legal questions and problems form a comparative perspective. This method has been the introduction of a new means of thought for the scholars of law which has broadened their horizon of attention.

This book has been prepared with the intention of diversifying the sources of comparative law and responding to the interest and needs of the new generation of this land in the field of comparative law. A generation that has a keen interest in learning about the legal issues of other nations and is looking for new sources to develop its comparative awareness. In this book, an attempt has been made to provide the important issues of comparative law required by an Iranian student in a simple and concise manner, and many details and footnotes have been avoided.
